Annual Restorative Practices Conference

Each year, Community Change, Inc. collaborates with Lehman College – School of Education under the leadership of Dr. David Fletcher to offer an Annual Restorative Practices Conference. This year’s 4th annual conference will explore trauma and trauma-informed practices as related to current efforts to build restorative and transformative schools and communities. Topics to be addressed include: The Legacy Model for Cultural Education; approaches and protocols found to be effective in changing whole school cultures from being retributive to being restorative, the expressive arts and mindfulness support of youth’s holistic development and healing from trauma, the social, emotional and academic development of youth supported by trauma-informed practices and the critical need for culturally responsive teaching to support the building of restorative schools.
